We are going to implement the traditional
condition of limited wins in lifetime. This will start with
two categories, one being for horses that have not won 4, or
more, races lifetime (max 3 wins), and another for horses that
have not won 6, or more, races lifetime (max 5 wins).
These conditions will be applied to a few
Claiming races from Monday, 19 January 2004. The races will
be designated as ‘Claiming Plate N6L’. The cap
of 4 wins lifetime will be programmed as from Monday, 26 January
2004. These will be designated as ‘Claiming Plate N4L’.
These races will be programmed from early
next week.
Handicapping penalties, based on wins in stakes
races, will still apply to these Conditioned Claiming races.
A win in a Conditioned Claimer or Claiming races will not count
towards penalties applied in handicapping of subsequent Conditioned
Claimers or Stakes races – this is unchanged. A win in
a Conditioned Claimer or Claiming races will also not be considered
for the purpose of applying the new win limit condition.
We were also considering a claiming category
with a condition that limits nominations to a specified number
of successive races with no wins, but have decided to put this
on hold for now, along with allowances for no wins.
