The 8th season's Championship Series is about to kick off with the start of the Qualifying Races on August 3. $75,000 in added prize money is up for grabs in the Series stretching over the next 4 months.

The Championship Series tests your virtual racing skills as your horses will be competing against the best virtual horses on Digiturf.com. Your skill, strategy and efforts will all play a part as you experience the exciting moments before the lucrative Finals, exceeding all the exhiliration you have felt before... ever!

This season's Finals at the end of November 2003 are once again going to be particularly skillful in the 3 year old Triple Crown races. A Triple Crown Champion that wins all three final events over the three distances will be awarded DOUBLE the prize money won on each Championship final! This means that your 3 year old champ could win you a MASSIVE $6,000 in the Finals alone this season!

For each Championship Race you will be looking at $2,000 to $3,000 in cash winnings. The Finals are scheduled on the 28th, 29th and 30th of November 2003.

Before you join the Ultimate Challenge, it is essential that you read the following points as they give you specifics about the rules and guidelines to the Championship Series:

  • By purchasing the once-off supplementary fee ($5 at registration, or $100 at any other time) you automatically register your horse as a Championship candidate. This will enable your horse to race in valuable Qualifying races for its entire career (2-7 year old). You never have to renew this fee.
  • For 2YO's your horse must have won at least 1 race to be eligible to race in a Qualifier.
  • For and 3YO's and 4-7YO's your horse must have won at least 2 races to be eligible to race in a Qualifier.
  • All qualifying races are at level weights, regardless of the number of races your horse has won.
  • Every Qualifying race for this season has between $50 and $75 added prize money, sponsored by Digiturf.com.
  • The nomination fee for all Qualifying races is set at $30 per race. Take note that 85% of your nomination fee goes towards stakes money for that race, so big stakes build in these races.
  • Each time your horse participates in a Qualifying race, it earns points for that specific race category according to where it finishes. Your horse can earn points in more than one category of Qualifying races.
  • As from last season all Championships will allow all qualifiers to race in as many Finals as they have qualified in.
  • Qualification for any of the Championship races is determined automatically, according to the list of 14 top points earners in each category.
  • There is no nomination fee for the Championship Finals. Digiturf.com puts up the $30,000 prize money for the Finals.
  • Your horse does not necessarily have to race in all the Qualifiers to qualify for a Championship race. Monitor your horse’s standing in the points table for the particular category and race it in as many Qualifiers as you feel is necessary in order to make the final field.

The rules for determining which final a horse goes into if it qualifies for more than one final are as follows:

  1. Points. (the final that horse has most points for is the one the horse goes into). If these are equal then,
  2. No Of Qualifying Races (the race for which the horse got these points in the least no of qualifiers). If these are equal then,
  3. Best Position (the race for which the horse got the best position). If these are equal then,
  4. No Of Wins (the race for which the horse had the most number of wins in the qualifiers). If these are equal then,
  5. Earnings (the race for which the horse had the most earnings)
